Shine Academy Educational Center (SAEC) is a private pre-primary and lower primary school. We are located in the urban low income, informal settlement (i.e. slum) of Kibera within Nairobi, the Kenyan national capital. We operate in a small property of two rented buildings in the main Olympic estate in Kibera.

Shine Academy Educational Center (SAEC) has three classrooms with a total student population of 72. The corona virus pandemic forced the school to scale down from 11 classrooms to the current 3 since most of the operations were badly affected by the stipulated curfews as required by government to minimise infections. Initially the school was from playground to class 8 but currently, it is from playground to class 3 with just a single stream.

Shine Academy Educational Center (SAEC) vision is to offer quality education to orphan and disadvantaged children. Our mission is to provide vulnerable children with an opportunity to pursue their dreams through education that encompasses classroom learning, mentorship and life-skills. We are willing to partner with both domestic and international organizations or foundations to accomplish this goal.
